2006 Freedom Weekend to include National Town Hall Meeting
Featuring Gov. Jennifer Granholm and
Gubernatorial Candidate Dick DeVos
Detroit, MI -- April 13, 2006 -- The National Town Hall Meeting is scheduled for Friday, April 28, 2006 at Cobo Conference Center from 5PM-7PM. Freedom Weekend V will feature current Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm and Gubernatorial candidate Dick DeVos. Not only will this Town Hall Meeting give attendees the opportunity to hear each candidate’s opinion on issues affecting Michigan residents -- from the current state of the economy to affirmative action -- but will also have the opportunity to hear each candidate’s plan of action if he or she is elected next Governor of Michigan.
“This event is a key event with the upcoming November election. It is important for voters to learn where each candidate stands on the important issues and challenges Michigan residents have had to face in recent years. We hope that voters will use this event as an opportunity to arm themselves with the information they need to make an informed decision on Election Day,” said Rev. Anthony, founder/CEO of the Freedom Institute.
The Freedom Institute, the producer of Freedom Weekend, is a 501(c)3 non-profit, non-partisan organization designed to be an urban think tank to address issues of public policy that affect the quality of life.
The event is free and open to the public. Freedom Weekend V’s Corporate sponsors are Dalessandro Contracting Group, Realcheaphouse.com, Comcast, Chase and Charter One Bank.
This year’s Freedom Weekend will occur Thursday, April 27, 2006 through Saturday, April 29, 2006.
